Cristian Urroz, the co-founder of Urroz, a web and graphic design studio here in Cornwall, sees vast potential in the local business community and is that friend next door who enjoys chatting about your goals and ambitions. Cristian has worked with several local businesses in various industries and always seeks to understand their unique challenges. After graduating from OCAD University in Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in Design, he brings a fresh perspective on ways to overcome brand challenges while also educating business owners on the available online tools to keep them moving in the right direction.

Eric Tremblay is the manager at the Cornwall office of MNP LLP. Originally from the grater Montreal area, Eric moved to Cornwall in 2009, and started working for CKDM/MNP in 2015. He did his undergraduate and MBA in Montreal, successfully wrote the CPA exam in 2015 and completed the CPA in-depth tax program in 2022. At MNP, Eric is involved mainly in helping small, owner-managed corporation operating in the area, assisting them with their day-to-day operations, their reporting requirements and tax planning. He is known for his attention to details and his strong analytic skills, and his experience and knowledge make him a valuable business advisor for the community. Eric is also very curious and loves to learn. Whether at home or in his office, there is always a copy of the income tax act around. On a personal level, Eric has 3 children, ranging from 9 to 20 years old, the last two being raised in Cornwall.

Kristin Davey is the owner and operator of The Happy Popcorn Co. located in downtown Cornwall. In the short 10 months she has been in business, she has managed to not just survive COVID-19 but pivot the manner in which the business operates in order to thrive in a pandemic. So much so, they outgrew their First Street location and have expanded and moved the business just around the corner to 109 Pitt Street, a location that is over 5 times larger than their old spot. In addition to surviving a pandemic, Kristin Davey and The Happy Popcorn Co. continue to raise funds for various charities in Cornwall and SD&G. To date, they have donated over $6000 in cash and popcorn to local groups. Much of the success is due to Kristin’s many years of experience in the advertising industry having worked for various newspapers, publishers, and design firms across Canada. Recently, she ran her own design firm Get Noticed Visual Communications here in Cornwall, servicing both local and clients from across the country. In addition to running her own business, she held a full-time position with a local product manufacturer, working with the product development and marketing teams to establish new brands and products in the international retail marketplace. Kristin has since gone on to start The Happy Popcorn Co. as a legacy for her son with Autism. Kristin has successfully completed the SEA program at St. Lawrence College, the Design Skills course at OEJI, as well as attended various small business classes with the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre. She is also a graduate of The Ontario College of Art & Design with a diploma in Material Art & Design and a graduate of Loyalist College with a diploma in Advertising. She uses her creative expertise to find unique solutions to various problems with a strong focus on collaborative efforts that benefit multiple parties. Her belief is that businesses that work together, thrive, and grow together, and ultimately that is great for the community.
