City Council approved to terminate the between the City of Cornwall and the Township of South Glengarry for the joint operation of the Cornwall Regional Airport.

Council approved the following under Consent:

  • Proclamation – Annual Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day
  • Proclamation – Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day
  • Proclamation – World Polio Day
  • 2021 Poppy Campaign – Royal Canadian Legion
  • Third Quarter Non-Competitive Procurement Report 2021

Resolution 2021-17 Cornwall Regional Airport Commission

  • Councillor Bergeron, Hollingsworth and Towndale agreed that although the contract is not in the best interest of the City, there could have been room to negotiate the contract before terminating it.
  • Councillor MacDonald, Gardiner, Carr, Bennett, Dupelle, Hebert, McIntosh, and Mayor Grant agreed that it is time now to walk away from the agreement as it does not benefit the residents of Cornwall or Economic Development.
  • Council approved to terminate the agreement between the City of Cornwall and the Township of South Glengarry for the joint operation of the Cornwall Regional Airport.

Strategic Priorities Update

  • Council approved to receive the report.

Mayor’s Task Force on Housing Update

  • Council approved to receive the report.
